On Hypermarket, engaging in sales activities such as creating resale listings or managing a store requires completing the Stripe Connect onboarding process. This setup is essential for ensuring that all financial transactions are processed securely and efficiently. Here’s a step-by-step guide to completing your payment onboarding with Stripe, whether you’re a reseller or a store merchant.

Understanding Different Onboarding Scenarios

For Resellers & Payout Group Recipients

If you wish to resell products you bought or receive payments as part of a payout group, you must complete the Stripe onboarding through your personal Hypermarket profile. Navigate to the ‘Finances’ tab in your ‘Manage account’ flow.

For Merchants

If you own a store and want to make sales, the onboarding process must be completed via the ‘Finances’ tab on your store dashboard. This is crucial for activating your ability to receive payments from sales made through your store.

Onboarding Process

  1. Access the Finances Tab:
    • For Resellers & Payout Group Recipients: Go to your account settings and select the ‘Finances’ tab.
    • For Merchants: Navigate to your store dashboard and access the ‘Finances’ tab there.

  2. Initiate Onboarding: You will be prompted to begin the onboarding process, which is integrated via Stripe Connect. Click the designated button to start.

  3. Choose Account Type: During onboarding, you’ll have the option to register as an individual or as an entity (such as an LLC or corporation). Select the type that best fits your personal or business structure.

  4. Enter Required Information: Stripe may request various pieces of information depending on whether you’re signing up as an individual or an entity. This can include your social security number, business tax ID (EIN), personal or business address, and bank account details. The specific information required by Stripe is dynamic and adjusts based on your location, the entity type, and other regulatory requirements.

Profile vs Store Onboarding

It’s crucial to understand that completing onboarding for your Hypermarket profile enables you to participate in resales and payout groups, while completing onboarding for your store allows you to collect payments from your store sales.

By completing your Stripe Connect onboarding, you are setting up an important foundation for your sales activities on Hypermarket. This process not only enhances the security of your transactions but also aligns with global financial standards, ensuring that you are ready to conduct business effectively on the platform.
